USA Jump Rope Region 8 Tournament

  • This is the qualifier for the USAJR Nationals, usually in March
  • Held in either Santa Clara or Santa Barbara, California
  • A great experience for all our more experienced jumpers whether or not they intend to try to qualify to go to the Nationals

AAU California Open Tournament

  • This is the qualifier for the AAU Junior Olympic Games.
  • Held in La Canada, California, usually in April
  • A great experience for all jumpers whether or not they intend to go to the Junior Olympic Games.
  • Preparation for this competition is a major Foothill Force focus.

USA Jump Rope National Tournament

  • Held in Galveston, TX in 2009 
  • June 25-28
  • Must qualify at USAJR Region 8 Tournament
  • Highly competitive
  • See www.usajumprope.org for description of age divisions and events.
  • If going, you must be available to practice from the end of LCUSD school year until the Nationals.

AAU West Coast Junior Olympic Games

  • Location has been a UC Davis and Reno CA in past years
  • Usually have to qualify at the AAU CA Open tournament
  • Usually in mid-July
  • Preparation for this competition is a major team focus.
  • If going to the AAU Junior Olympic Games, you must be available to practice from the end of LCUSD school year until the WCJOG.

AAU Junior Olympic Games
 

  • 2009: Hampton Roads, Virginia
  • 2010: New Orleans, Louisiana
  • 2011:  Knoxville, Tennessee
  • Usually late July to early August
  • Must qualify at AAU CA Open Tournament
  • Preparation for this competition is a major team focus.
  • If going to the AAU Junior Olympic Games, you must be available to practice from the end of LCUSD school year until the JOG 
     

  • There is a jumper who can do a 900 degree turn (that is 2 1/2 turns in midair)!
  • There is a jumper who can do a sextuple under (rope goes around 6 times in one jump)!
